About Me

I am a sixth-year graduate student at UC Irvine working with Professors Michael Cooper and Manoj Kaplinghat studying galaxy evolution. In addition to my research, I am very passionate about astronomers' obligation to meet the public's overwhelming demand for scientific engagement.

During my four years as the Graduate Outreach Coordinator for the UCI Observatory, I organized over 50 events with local community organizations and schools to bring astronomy to the public, ranging from girl-scout field trips with a few young astronomers to over an exhibit at the Irvine Water Festival visited by over a thousand elementary school students. Throughout this time, the universal positive reaction that I am met with encourages me of the appreciation of members of the public of astronomy.

When out of the office, I enjoy volunteering with the Ciclavia organization, working to engage Los Angeles communities through open-streets events.
