Abundance Matching Table

 

A tabulation of the preferred abundance matching presciption, described in detail in Garrison-Kimmel et al. (2014), is available as a text file here (right click and save as). We caution that the relationship is extrapolated for stellar masses below 108M (halo masses below ~6×1010M). Furthermore, the relation is only valid at z = 0. We ask that you cite Garrison-Kimmel et al. (2014) if you use this abundance matching presciption.

Present Day Halo Catalogs

 

We publish here the redshift-zero halo catalogs extracted from the merger trees built by consistent-trees from the Rockstar halo catalogs as ASCII files. Please cite Garrison-Kimmel et al. (2014) if you use any of this data.

The tree below contains access to the individual files. You may click any tree heading to download a tar.gz of all the files within that (sub)folder, or any individual file to save only the data for that host -- the triangles act to expand and collapse the tree. A detailed accounting of the files are contained within the README. As in the first ELVIS paper, the starred runs include a third large host within the Local Volume and may not be fair comparisons to the Local Group.

The halo catalogs are relatively small -- the uncompressed text files for the HiRes runs are each several megabytes; the remaining halo catalogs are less than 1 MB each. The sizes of the .tar.gz files are listed below.

Evolutionary Tracks

 

We also publish here the properties of the main branches of all the resolved halos in the ELVIS Suite, again as ASCII files. As before, we ask that you please cite Garrison-Kimmel et al. (2014) if you use any of this data.

The data are organized by into folders by the simulation; each folder contains a file for each property in the halo catalog. The properties are detailed in the README.txt.

As with the halo catalogs above, you may download individual files by browsing within the tree below, or all the files contained within any heading by clicking that heading. Note that, if the files are downloaded individually, they will by default be prepended with the name of the run; if they are downloaded as part of a .tar.gz, they will only exist within a folder named after the simulation -- all individual properties will be named only after that property. Again, the starred runs include a third large halo within the Local Volume.

We combine the three-dimensional properties, the halo center and velocity, into tar files themselves. That is, clicking a "Center" link will download a tarred directory containing separate files for the X, Y, and Z coordinates. That folder will be named after the simulation, and the individual files will be named simply X.txt, etc. The same is true for a "Velocity" link.

The ASCII files for the merger trees are significantly larger than those for the z = 0 halo catalogs -- the sizes of the .tar.gz files are again listed below. The uncompressed data for a single run total ~10-30 MB (~200 MB for the HiRes simulations), but the ASCII data compresses well -- a tar.gz file for a single run varies from ~50 MB (for the two HiRes simulations with large zoom regions) to ~2 MB (for Isolated simulations with relatively small uncontaminated volumes).
